Inside the mind

How does being in drag make you feel and is it different from your everyday life?

I work a Monday - Friday corporate job, so I usually just live a chill life during the day. But when I’m not working, is when I truly involve myself in everything I love. Being in drag is my happy place, it’s how I feel the most confident and creative when making music or other things. Some people may see this much makeup as a mask, but for me it’s an outlet for self expression. I feel the most myself and comfortable when I’m dressed up like this.

Do you feel like your drag is more like an extension of you or is it a character/entirely different person?

For me, it’s actually a huge role in my gender identity. I don’t just see this as a character or “dress up”, I really feel in tune with this part of myself and love to live in that fantasy. I’m a genderfluid artist, and have tried every art medium possible over the years. I’ve found that the visual art I do with my body is the most rewarding art form I have; all the tattoos, piercings, makeup, and outfits all have meaning and tie together into my full vision. I am “lithapheric”.

Why do you like doing drag?

I like doing drag because at the end of the day everyone’s drag is different, because it’s all just self expression and artistic styles. I love how bold and exaggerated you can make everything, that’s why I’ve really stuck with the colored contacts with my vision. I didn’t realize how truly customizable our bodies are, and how unrealistic and crazy you can turn the vision with the contacts & makeup. Drag is my favorite art form I have ever done.
